Birdie (Special Needs)

Meet Birdie! She is a senior, blind Dachshund who is full of love! Although she can’t see, she has so much love to give. She prefers being around people and finds comfort in snuggling up with you on the couch. She will do well with other dogs as long as slow and proper introductions are met. Her foster brother is a 100-pound Mastiff. She has also been exposed to cats and chickens with zero issues. Mostly, she just wants to be with a person that will make her feel safe and secure.

Birdie is a good navigator and she loves to eat! We are currently trying to get her to a healthy weight, so only healthy snacks are allowed and her tendency to be overweight should be something to keep in mind for her potential adopter. She is potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go out for a potty break! Although she’s happy to take a few short walks throughout the day, her favorite thing to do is lay on the couch with her person. This is where she feels secure because the world outside is a little daunting when you can’t see!

Birdie is simply a sweetheart. She needs a home where she feels safe, secure and can be given the attention she deserves!
