Ruth Smith, 90, of Boonton, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, with her loving daughter by her side. Born in Brewster, NY, on June 5, 1934, Ruth was the beloved wife of William T. Smith for nearly 50 years, and a devoted mother to her three daughters.

Ruth dedicated her career as a Bookkeeper until her retirement in 1998. She and her husband spent almost 30 wonderful years in Fair Lawn, NJ, before relocating to the Renaissance community in Manchester, NJ where she spent 17 years in a community she loved. Ruth moved to Boonton in 2019 to live with her daughter. Here, she cherished her love for life, dogs, and loved sharing in fostering many dogs from North Star Pet Rescue.

The family was Ruth’s greatest joy, especially her grandchildren. She leaves behind her daughters, Ellen Clancey (and husband Kevin Clancey), Eileen Cox, and Susan Smith; and her grandchildren: Christian Clancey, Niall Clancey, Clare Clancey, Jennifer Clancey, Corey Cox, and Meghan Cox. Ruth is also survived by her beloved dog, Holly Bear Smith, who brought her daily smiles. Ruth’s legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever be remembered.
